Previously, the Jacksonville Short Film Showcase was an event that screened local submissions and had an Audience Favorite Award. Going into 2017, we're expanding this format with a whole new set of guidelines, including a judges panel, and cash prizes. The current screening is scheduled for January 26, 2017. The submission period for this screening will be open from November 7, 2016 - January 15, 2017. The submission deadline is firm– no late submissions are allowed after midnight on January 15, 2017.

The event organizer will respond to all completed entries (paid in full) with a follow up e-mail specifying a random genre, plot theme, and the main characters your short film must include. All filmmakers must accept their randomly chosen categories to participate in the event. Below are the collection of categories that the organizer will randomly select:

Disclaimer: Every film submission requires a $15 entry fee in order to be considered. Please complete the entire entry process to ensure your place in the contest. Also, due to time limitations, there is a maximum of 22 entries to be screened at the event. We will update the website and social media as fully completed and paid submissions come in.

  • Only Jacksonville Filmmakers permitted
  • 75% of cast and crew must be Jacksonville natives
  • Must be shot on location in Jacksonville, FL (Duval, Clay)
  • One film submission per director or producer
  • No end credits permitted for screening version
  • Genre, theme, & main character(s) will be pre-selected
  • You must own all rights to all elements in the film
